Foreman will get Police escort

Foreman, who is studying to be a rabbi, will be observing the Sabbath on the day he will defend his WBA junior middleweight championship. He will be sequestered in a Manhattan hotel room on 92nd Street until about 9:15 p.m. when he will be given a police escort to Yankee Stadium to prepare for the bout.

The escort is needed to keep Foreman from getting tied up in traffic and not having enough time to get his hands wrapped and properly warm up before the main event starts.
"It's going to be less waiting around time that's for sure," Foreman said.

The New York State Athletic Commission offered to allow Foreman's hands to be wrapped at the hotel under the supervision of a commission rep and someone from the Cotto camp.
"We turned that down," said Foreman's co-manager Maury Wilson. "We have enough time. He only needs an hour."

If the fight between Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Rashad Evans is anywhere near as entertaining as the trash talk they have exchanged leading up to tonight's main event at UFC 114 in Las Vegas, then fans are in for a treat.
The two former light heavyweight champions have been exchanging insults since they served as coaches on the Ultimate Fighter.
"I want to teach guys like this a lesson to keep his mouth shut when you ain't on the same level as the next man," Jackson said. "That's the motivation for this fight and it's like a [moral] victory. It's not up there with a title shot. He's done nothing compared to what I've done."
Jackson's resume now includes a starring role in the recently released movie "The A-Team." That's part of the reason why Jackson hasn't fought since March 2009.

Antonio Margarito will attempt to get his boxing license in the United States in hopes of landing a fight with Manny Pacquiao in November.
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum confirmed Margarito as the probable opponent for Pacquiao should a much-discussed bout between Pacquiao and Floyd "Money" Mayweather reach an impasse again.
So far there has been no dialogue between Arum and Mayweather's camp, and the prospects of serious talks in the near future look bleak. Arum has made it known Pacquiao has agreed to take random blood test up until 14 days before the fight, but wants the purse to remain a 50-50 split. There are reports Mayweather now wants a larger share of the purse and likely will not agree to a random blood testing schedule that has a deadline.

Also Manny Pacquiao plans to go to watch the Foreman-Cotto fight despite reports he is suffering from a mild ulcer. The newly elected Congressman in the Philippines will arrive with his family in New York next week and attend the Boxing Writers Dinner, where he will be presented with the Fighter of the Year Award.
"He worked so hard campaigning," Arum said. "He'd do five rallies a day and he's a rebel rouser. He's like [President] O'Bama. He gets the crowd all stirred up. He's a great, great orator, though I didn't know a word he was saying."

Zab "Super" Judah (38-6, 26 KOs) of Brooklyn returns to the ring on July 16 when he meets Jose Armando Santa Cruz of Mexico (28-4, 17 KOs) at the Prudential Center. The fight will be broadcast live on ESPN 2. Tickets information has not been released.
